FD: Vehicle swerves, hits Glendale fire rescue vehicle

GLENDALE, AZ - Several people were taken to the hospital after a Glendale collision involving a fire rescue vehicle on the way to a call.

According to the Glendale Fire Department, the rescue vehicle was responding with lights and sirens activated when a vehicle headed in the opposite direction veered into their lane at 65th and Peoria avenues, hitting them.

There were a total of four vehicles involved with seven patients, including four children and two Glendale firefighters.

Authorities say all victims were taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons and that everyone was properly restrained by seat belts and child safety seats.
