GLENDALE, AZ - A young child is lucky to be alive after falling in a Glendale pool Wednesday night.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. at a home near 71st Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
Firefighters say the 2-year-old's mother pulled the child from the pool and performed CPR.
Glendale Fire Department spokesman Jose Morales said when crews arrived, the child was coughing up water, breathing and crying.
Firefighters said the child was transported to the hospital, but is expected to survive.
The name and sex of the child is unknown at this time.
Crews are still investigating how the 2-year-old ended up in the pool.
