FD: 5 hurt when SUV slams into Oregano's in Glendale

GLENDALE, AZ - Five people were injured after an SUV plowed into a Glendale business Monday night.

The incident happened around 6 p.m. at the Oregano's restaurant near 67th Avenue and Bell Road.

Glendale fire crews tell ABC15, a man was trying to park in the handicapped zone when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the building and through the women's restroom.

Firefighters say a 30-year-old woman is hospitalized in stable condition after she was temporarily trapped underneath the SUV. Authorities say the lower portion of her leg was partially severed.

Officials say a woman in her 50's is critical condition after suffering serious injuries to her head.

Firefighters say three other people were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Crews say all of the victims were waiting outside the restaurant when they were struck

Glendale Police spokeswoman Tracey Breeden says impairment and physical impairment may be factors in the crash.

Breeden said police are still investigating and no arrests have been made.

The victims and driver are not being identified at this time.
