GLENDALE, AZ - A Glendale man is facing charges after allegedly instructing his 11-year-old son to physically discipline the boy's own brother.
Authorities were called to the family's West Valley residence Saturday afternoon regarding allegations of child abuse.
A witness told authorities that Patrick Dunn, 34, had struck and injured his 7-year-old son.
The 7-year-old told police that he was spanked by both his older brother and father. The boy suffered bruises and abrasions on his neck and lower back, according to a police report.
The older brother reportedly told police that his dad told him to punch and hit his sibling while the father held the boy down. The 11-year-old also said that he is often told to discipline the 7-year-old.
Dunn told police that he instructed the older siblings to take care of issues with the younger siblings because he works so much, but that it got out of hand.
Dunn was booked for aggravated assault and child abuse.
The mother of the children will also reportedly face charges of child neglect because she was aware of the situation.
