GLENDALE, AZ - Authorities have arrested an 18-year-old male and a male juvenile in connection to the murder of a 50-year-old maintenance worker at a Glendale apartment complex last week.
Sgt. Jay O'Neill of the Glendale Police Department said Theodore Montgomery was arrested and booked on charges related to the Dec. 3, 2013 shooting of Douglas Elliott in the parking lot of an apartment complex near 67th Avenue and Bethany home.
Another male juvenile was also booked on charges related to the crime.
O'Neill said there are other potential suspects still outstanding, however, further information was not available.
"This investigation is still very fluid and releasing additional details could potentially hinder the outcome," said O'Neill in a released statement.
Meanwhile, the victim's family is struggling to accept that Doug is gone.
"He was a great man, a great dad, a great grandfather," his son, Douglas Elliott Jr. cried. "He just worked his tail off every day to give us everything we needed."
The Elliotts will spend Christmas without Doug Sr. for the first time.
"We just went shopping for his Christmas present the day before he was killed," cried Elizabeth Elliott. "It's so hard because he didn't deserve this."
Police have not released a possible motive for the shooting.
