In a statement posted to their Facebook page Friday, Glendale Union High School District said, "Independence High School was put on lock down this morning due to a police investigation. Police have secured the campus. There is no active shooter on campus. The investigation is ongoing."

Police were called to the high school Friday morning after two teenagers were shot on campus. Police have not confirmed if the victims were students or the status of their injuries.

Parents have been instructed to meet at the Walmart near 75th and Glendale Avenues.

"Parents will be notified as soon as it is safe for students to be picked up from campus," the District said. "We will actively communicate with parents as more information is available."

Sources have confirmed to ABC15 that one person has died. Police have not publicly confirmed that, however.
