Suspect arrested in El Mirage shooting

EL MIRAGE, AZ - A 21-year-old man has been arrested following a shooting in El Mirage earlier this week.

Nicholas Yeargin allegedly shot another man several times after the two apparently argued at an apartment complex near 122nd Avenue and Thunderbird Road Wednesday morning, police said.

El Mirage police said the victim was found by officers lying in the parking lot, he had been shot multiple times.

The victim, who police say is in his early 20s, was taken to a local hospital. Police said he was able to talk to detectives after he was shot. He is currently in stable condition, according to Det. Robert Peoples.

Police say Yeargin was identified as the suspect and Thursday night authorities received an anonymous tip on his location.

Yeargin was arrested without incident near 129th Avenue and Cactus Road.

He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail for aggravated assault.
