MCSO: 2 dead in Youngtown shooting; suspect commits suicide

YOUNGTOWN, AZ - Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies say a man suspected of fatally shooting two people in Youngtown killed himself Friday night.

Authorities said 39-year-old Jose Guadalupe Sotelo forced his way into a home near 111th and Peoria avenues and fatally shot a man and a woman Friday morning.

Deputies said 41-year-old Adam Manns died at the home and 33-year-old Shawntah Eierdam died at the hospital. A second woman in the home was not hurt.

After the shooting, Sotelo fled the scene in a white Ford Ranger belonging to someone at the home.

Maricopa County Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Jones said around 9 p.m. Friday night, MCSO tracked Sotelo to a parking lot at Thunderbird Hospital near 55th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

Jones said when deputies went to approach him, he raised a weapon to his head and shot himself. It is not known at this time how or why he was at the hospital. Deputies are still trying to locate the stolen vehicle.

Authorities said they believe the shootings were the result of a domestic violence situation, but they are continuing to investigate.
