PD: Man dies after stabbing in El Mirage

EL MIRAGE, AZ - Police say a man has died after he was stabbed by his son in El Mirage.

El Mirage police Det. Kim Walden said the victim is a 76-year-old male.

Police are now investigating the incident that happened around 1:40 p.m. near Thunderbird Road and Grand Avenue.

Walden said Albert Arias, 47, and father Pete Arias got into a fight. Albert Arias stabbed his father multiple times.

Neighbors say the two were always arguing about yard tools.

"They always argue, but they don't argue to this extent … they're nice people, really nice people," neighbor Angela Franco said.

Walden said the suspect, who lives in the same neighborhood as his parents, then walked a few blocks to the police station where he told officers they needed to check on his father who had been stabbed.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he died.

Albert has been arrested in the past for aggravated DUI and disorderly conduct.
