EL MIRAGE, AZ - An El Mirage man walked into a Phoenix police station and admitted to killing his girlfriend, police said.
Fifty-three-year-old Philbert July walked into the Phoenix Police Department's Central Phoenix Station and confessed to killing his girlfriend, Kim Walden said, detective for the El Mirage police.
July said he had been drinking with his girlfriend on Saturday, April 13, when they got into an argument and then somewhere during that argument he killed his girlfriend, said El Mirage police.
Police responded to the suspect's home where they found a deceased woman.
Police have not released the cause of death as an autopsy is pending. The name of the victim was not immediately available.
July was booked on one count of second-degree murder at the Maricopa County Jail, police said. More charges may be added.
