BUCKEYE, AZ - Good news is on the way for thousands of Global Water customers in Buckeye.
New lab tests were released late Saturday afternoon that were all negative for E. coli.
The company told ABC15 they believe their overnight cleaning and chlorination worked to eliminate the bacteria.
Just before 6 p.m. ABC15 learned that Maricopa County Environmental Services has lifted the warning to boil water.
The advisory was put in place after E. coli bacteria was discovered in samples of the water supplied by Valencia Water Company.
In the meantime water company customers have been stocking up on bottled water from their local grocery stores.
The warning affected nearly 6,000 Valencia customers in Buckeye, specifically in the areas south of Interstate 10 and north of Baseline Road.
The company has 10 active wells and one tested positive for E. coli.
E. coli is a bacteria that can cause serious illness, especially for people with weak immune systems and for young children.
