Storm leaves trailers blown over in Buckeye

BUCKEYE, AZ - Buckeye authorities had their hands full after a storm ripped through the West Valley Thursday night.

Fire Chief Bob Costello said several homes were knocked over after rain and high winds hit the Leaf Verde trailer park near Yuma and Apache roads.

Costello said when crews arrived on scene, they found 10 trailers overturned. He said officers had to extricate several people who were trapped in their trailers.

Officials said two people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

In addition to the trailer damage, Costello said fire crews also had to deal with house fires, multiple power lines down and flooding in the area.

"It was our turn for severe weather," said Costello.
