Authorities have identified the remains of man found in a Tonopah canal west of Phoenix.
Maricopa County Sheriff's detectives say the remains are those of 42-year-old Karl Frederich Bonz.
Part of his body was discovered Monday morning in the canal that's in area of mostly fields and desert.
The Arizona Republic says MCSO started the investigation Monday after a Central Arizona Project worker came across a human foot in the canal.
Authorities found other remains as they continued the search.
Detectives aren't considering the death as suspicious at this time due to the evidence found, but the sheriff's office still is investigating the case.
