Large hay fire sparks in West Valley, officials say it could burn for days

BUCKEYE, AZ - If you are in the West Valley, you might be able to see the smoke from a fire near 300th and Southern avenues in Buckeye.

The fire was reported around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday in a large area of stacked hay.

Fire crews are working to keep the blaze under control and no surrounding structures are at risk.

Karen Alexander with the Buckeye Valley Fire Department said no one was injured in the fire.

The cause is under investigation, but does not appear suspicious, Alexander said.

The smoke plume could be seen for miles.
