BUCKEYE, AZ - One Valley high school is sending a very powerful message in a music video they created for a contest between "Good Morning America" and Katy Perry.
The challenge, which launched Sept. 6., encouraged students to make a music video set to Perry's latest hit, "Roar."
Verrado High School in Buckeye took the challenge and decided to showcase one of their senior cheerleaders and her ability to overcome adversity and success.
The Verrado High School cheerleading squad stopped by ABC15 Mornings to talk about the message in their music video, how the idea for the music video was developed by another student, and their anticipation in finding out who the winner is.
The winners receive a live concert with Katy Perry at their school on Oct. 25. Winners will be notified on Oct. 10.
