BUCKEYE, AZ - Buckeye police say a 48-year-old man lost his life Friday after being shot and killed by a co-worker.
Police spokesman Joseph Preston said just before 5 a.m, police were called to a shooting near 195th Avenue and Buckeye Road.
Preston said someone called police to report a farm worker had shot another worker and was still on the loose.
When police on scene, they found Herme Rene Escobar, shot to death.
The suspect, 62-year-old Francisco Macias of Avondale was taken into custody and booked into the 4th Avenue Jail for second degree murder.
Authorities said Macias has worked at the farm for more than ten years. Escobar had only been employed there for a little over a month.
