FD: Man stung 20 times by 'aggressive' bees in Buckeye

BUCKEYE, AZ - A man has been transported to the hospital after being attacked dozens of times by a swarm of bees Monday in Buckeye, said fire officials.

Bob Costello, Buckeye fire department chief, said crews responded to a home near Yuma and Watson Monday afternoon regarding a bee attack.

He said paramedics transported a 21-year-old man to the hospital who had been stung at least 20 times.

Crews were able to contain a majority of the bees, which were described as "active and aggressive," according to Costello.

He said the man was working as a security guard in the area.

No other details were released.
