Firefighters contain Buckeye brush fire

BUCKEYE, AZ - Heavy smoke could be seen for miles from a brush fire burning near I-10 and Miller Road in Buckeye.

The fire started around 5 p.m. Tuesday night and was contained Wednesday morning.

Buckeye Fire Department spokesman Bob Costello said, firefighters will continue to monitor a few hot spots to make sure it does not re-ignite.

The fire burned a total of 40 acres.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
