AVONDALE, AZ - A school project caused officials to respond to an Avondale playground on Wednesday night.
According to Glendale police, a father and son were doing a school project at a playground near 114th Avenue and Palm Lane with plastic bottles and dry ice.
One of the bottles exploded, police received several calls and responded to the park.
The boy suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the explosion, police said.
One bottle with dry ice did not explode which cause officials to respond to make sure the bottle and area was safe.
There is no word if any charges will be filed.
