AVONDALE, AZ - A Valley mom is facing child abuse charges after allegedly burning her 3-year-old's face with a Hot Pocket.
According to a police report, Katia Lieutaud, 35, was arrested near Avondale Boulevard and Van Buren Street Monday after Lieutaud got frustrated with the child and shoved her face into the hot food causing second degree burns.
The report said Lieutaud then tied socks around the child's hands to keep her from scratching or touching the burn.
When interviewed by police, Lieutaud said her 7-year-old child threw oatmeal at the 3-year-old, but when Lieutaud's fiancé said the burn did not happen with oatmeal, Lieutaud admitted to burning her daughter with a Hot Pocket.
Lieutaud then said she was frustrated and stressed because she is pregnant with another child, the report said.
The police report states Lieutaud has a history of child abuse and neglect as well as domestic violence.
Officials say the 3-year-old's burns are so bad they could require plastic surgery.
Police say all six of her children are now in foster care.
