AVONDALE, AZ - Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the body of a woman who was found in a canal Thursday morning in Avondale.
Sgt. Brandon Busse, spokesman for the Avondale Police Department, said authorities discovered the woman's body around 9:30 a.m. in a canal near 103rd Avenue and Thomas Road.
Authorities describe the woman as being no older than 30 years old, 5 foot 6, 130 pounds and has long, dark curly hair.
Busse said the woman was wearing a black Diamond Industries branded shirt, has a tattoo with the words "West" on her wrist, and has two gauged earrings with pictures of a diamond on them. She also had two lower lip piercings.
Authorities said the woman's body had no signs of trauma.
