Valley Metro wants your help on the final design for the Tempe Streetcar project.

There will be a public meeting Wednesday night where Valley Metro will reveal the design chosen for the streetcar.

Valley Metro Spokesperson Corinne Holliday encourages residents to attend.

“We are at 60 percent design," said Holliday. “The next time we’ll have a public meeting like this, we’ll be further along in the process — at 90 percent design. So now really is the time to provide any feedback if you haven’t yet.”

The streetcar will have 14 stops, along a three-mile route stretching from Marina Heights, down Mill Avenue, winding around the downtown core and continuing onto Dorsey and Apache Boulevard.

The streetcar will also connect with the light rail. Holliday says the streetcar will help Tempe residents connect to the light rail so they can more easily access other cities like downtown Phoenix and Mesa.

Some underground construction was done over the summer.

The project is expected to be finished in 2020.
