Thousands celebrate ASU's Homecoming in the streets of downtown Tempe

TEMPE, AZ - On Saturday morning, tens of thousands of Arizona State fans crowded the streets Tempe to celebrate 127 years of Sun Devil pride on Saturday.

"We see all of the traditions that we loved being a part of when we were at ASU, and we love coming back and being a part of all that excitement every year," ASU graduate Sierra Satterstrom said.

Homecoming is all about those who came before -- the alumni. Newlyweds Tim and Sierra Satterstrom graduated from ASU a few years ago, but they still came out to cheer with their dog Abby.

"Abby was born a Sun Devil," Tim said.

Abby the Golden Retriever looked great in her maroon and gold jersey, walking the streets with Tim and Sierra.

"She loves it," Tim said. "She gets excited whenever we bring out the ASU jersey."

"She can show as much pride in ASU and we have," he said.

Abby isn't the only Sun Devil fan rolling over. Jeff and Cara Jones rolled their kids up and down University Avenue in their strollers during the morning celebrations and parade.

"A little bit of ASU school spirit to get the kids into it," Jeff said. "They love Sparky."
