Tempe's Proposition 475 passes with 69 percent of vote

TEMPE, AZ - Tempe has become the first city in Arizona to pass a proposition protecting LGBTQ employees.

Proposition 475 would update the city's charter to prohibit discrimination due to race, gender, color, sexual orientation, religious and U.S. military status.

City officials said this will also paint Tempe as a progressive city. The proposition passed with 69 percent of the vote.
