A Tempe woman has been sentenced to over six years in prison for embezzlement.
Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced on Friday that 40-year-old Lynna Swann will spend six and a half years in prison for embezzling $50,000 from her employer, Treehouse Realty Group.
A company audit discovered that Swann stole money orders and checks from Treehouse. Swann had $10,000 in checks and money orders in her purse when she was confronted by her employer.
A Tempe police investigation revealed that Swann used a sharpie to write her name on money orders and then deposited the money orders into her bank account.
Swann was on probation for stealing from a previous employer at the time of the arrest.
