Tempe shooting suspect turns himself in to police

TEMPE, AZ - A man wanted for a shooting in Tempe last weekend has turned himself in to police.

Tempe police say 28-year-old Richard Johnson was wanted for the shooting death of 30-year-old Quennel Banks at an apartment complex near Rural Road and Southern Avenue early Saturday morning.

Police say Johnson turned himself in to Tempe police Tuesday night when was arrested. Johnson faces a charge of second-degree murder.

Johnson fled the scene after the shooting and police had been searching for him since.

On Saturday, police said they did not know the motive for the shooting.
