TEMPE, AZ - Tempe police detectives are asking for the public's help in finding a man who grabbed a 15-year-old student on her way home from school.
According to Sgt. Michael Pooley, the girl was walking through an apartment complex around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on Mill Avenue between Southern Avenue and U.S. 60.
The unknown man approached her and grabbed her arm when she tried to walk away, Pooley said.
The girl was able to pull away and ran home, he said.
Pooley said the girl was not hurt, and the suspect did not follow her as she ran.
She then reportedly called police after her mother got home.
Tempe patrol officers searched the area extensively, but the suspect was not located.
He's described as a Hispanic male, 30 to 39 years old. He's about 5-feet-2-inches tall with a heavy build, and has short dark hair.
He was wearing a dirty white T-shirt and jeans at the time, Pooley said.
Anyone who has information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Tempe Police Department at 480-350-8311.
