Tempe police arrest Angelo Moreno for allegedly robbing two pharmacies

TEMPE, AZ - Police have arrested a Phoenix man suspected of robbing two Tempe pharmacies within the past week.

According to the Tempe Police Department, on February 4 Angelo Moreno allegedly entered the CVS pharmacy near Baseline Road and Priest Drive in Tempe and demanded prescription medications.

Officials said he allegedly handed a note to the employees, but when they did not respond quickly, he jumped over the counter and the pharmacist gave him the pills.

On February 8, Moreno allegedly robbed the Walgreens near Baseline Road and Priest Drive.

Police said Moreno, 23, admitted he was addicted to Xanax, a legal tranquilizer that can be prescribed for anxiety.

No one was injured during either robbery.
