Suspect sought after man shot, killed in Tempe

TEMPE, AZ - A 30-year-old man was killed Saturday after an early morning shooting in Tempe and police are looking for the suspect.

Around 1 a.m., Tempe Police responded to a call of a subject down at an apartment complex near Rural Road and Southern Avenue.

Thirty-year-old Quennel Banks died after being shot by a suspect identified by police as 28-year-old Richard Tyrone Johnson, according to police.

Johnson reportedly fled the scene after the shooting in a 1996 gold Cadillac with Arizona plates "AHB-2105."

The motive for the shooting is unknown and Johnson is considered armed and dangerous.
