Ride for Reading delivers to Valley school

GUADALUPE, AZ - In just over five years, the Ride for Reading program has delivered more than 110,000 books to kids in schools in needy communities, including a spot here in the Valley.

The program started in Nashville, Tennessee with a goal of delivering books by bicycle to school-aged children in communities with families in need.

The group also stresses bicycle safety, with each volunteer delivering the books wearing a helmet for the bike ride.

The group recently finished a 20-city tour across the U.S., ending at Frank Turner Elementary in Guadalupe.

The group delivered over 1,000 books to more that 650 students.
