PHOENIX - Call it a coincidence or cruel irony. Either way, pot smokers were celebrating their unofficial holiday April 20, known as "Four-20," while thousands of others celebrated the Easter holiday.
Kimberly Draughan held the "LegalEyes 4-20" event in Tempe Sunday. She said picking that day wasn't easy. "We had a lot of opposition because it was Easter," she said.
Other states had celebrations for the smokers' holiday including California and Colorado.
While supporters say legalization would be good for the economy, others say it's still a dangerous drug and that more research needs to be done to determine long-term effects.
Leslie Bloom runs the Drug Free AZ organization says, "There's a direct link to a drop in IQ as well as even some mental illness issues they've identified."
