Preventing sex assaults at ASU

TEMPE, AZ - As the fall semester at ASU is underway, there is new emphasis on campus about preventing sexual assault.
Over the past several months there has been a lot of attention on the issue of sexual violence on campuses nationwide after a government survey revealed one in five women will be assaulted during their college career.
Earlier this summer ASU President Michael Crow announced a new task force to help raise awareness and prevention.
In addition to the task force, more than 4,000 students will undergo special training and all students will participate in an on-line learning module.
The goal is to make improvements and modifications as needed during the school year.
ASU is one of 55 schools across the country being investigated by the feds for how it handles cases.
