Police: Tempe Vintage Bar owner accused of sexual abuse during employee interview

TEMPE - One of the owners of Vintage bar on Mill Avenue in Tempe was arrested for sexual abuse and appeared in court on Tuesday, according to Tempe police.

The 35-year-old suspect allegedly sexually assaulted a 20-year-old woman after the victim went in for a job interview, according to Lt. Mike Pooley, a spokesman for Tempe police.

The suspect asked the victim to bring in a bikini and cocktail dress to change into during the interview, according to Pooley. The suspect then let the interviewee into his office to change.

The suspect allegedly watched the victim via video surveillance that was in the office. He then started serving her alcohol over a two-hour period until she passed out, said Pooley.

When the victim woke up the suspect was allegedly touching her inappropriately, he said.

The suspect was arrested on July 2 and released July 3 with an electronic monitoring device. He does not have a lawyer yet.
