Police: Man arrested in string of fast food, gas station robberies in Tempe and Mesa

TEMPE, AZ - Tempe police said Thursday a man suspected in a string of armed robberies in Tempe and Mesa last month was arrested.

Tempe police said they were working with the Mesa Police Department when they arrested Gabriel Bedoy after he allegedly robbed six fast food restaurants and gas stations from September 24 through September 28.

The businesses involved included two Subway restaurants in Mesa, a Tempe Shell gas station, two Little Caesar's in Mesa and in Tempe, and a 7/11 store in Tempe.

Police said that Bedoy entered the businesses with a semi-automatic handgun and forced the clerks to give him money.

Bedoy reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle each time and evidence obtained from one of the robbery locations was used to help identify Bedoy as a suspect.

Police said they located Bedoy driving the same vehicle used to commit the robberies in Mesa near Longmore and Southern and he was arrested on September 30.

He admitted his involvement in the crimes during interviews with detectives, according to police.

Bedoy was booked into the Tempe City Jail and is currently facing felony charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.
