TEMPE, AZ - A Phoenix high school wrestling coach is facing drug possession charges after police say they caught him smoking pot.
Tempe police spokeswoman Molly Enright said 26-year-old Cory Watson and another man were arrested Saturday off of Sixth Street and Mill Avenue in Tempe.
Officers said Watson broke their grip several times and tried to run when they caught him smoking the marijuana. Enright said they had to tase Watson before he'd cooperate.
Watson is a coach at Phoenix Christian High School near 18th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Enright said he's facing charges of aggravated assault on an officer, resisting arrest, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession.
There is no word on what, if any, disciplinary action Watson is facing from the school.
