PD: Woman shot during Tempe robbery attempt

TEMPE, AZ - Tempe police are searching for two gunmen who tried to rob two women at an apartment complex.

Police say the attempted armed robbery happened early Wednesday morning in the parking lot of the Southern Garden apartment complex near Southern Avenue and McClintock Drive.

Witnesses say two women were sitting in their car in the parking lot when they were approached by two men.

The men forced one of the women out of the car, and police say she was shot during the attempted robbery.

The woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries but the two suspects got away.

Witnesses on scene are cooperating with police.

Police are still looking for the suspects. The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s. He is 5 feet 7 inches, 160 pounds with dark brown hair. The second suspect is described as a dark skinned black male in his early 20s. He is 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet tall.
