TEMPE, AZ - Tempe police are working to identify a woman after her naked body was found in the street Saturday morning.
Sgt. Mike Pooley, spokesman for Tempe Police Department, said police received a call from someone heading to work around 4:30 a.m. that the body of a female was on Minton Drive near McClintock Drive and Baseline Road.
As of Monday afternoon, no new information or updates were released.
Pooley said the victim appears to be Native American or Hispanic, 15-19 years old, 4 feet, 10 inches to 5 feet tall, 110-120 pounds with short brown/auburn colored hair.
She has a scar on the outside of her wrist, a surgical type scar on her throat, braces and was wearing turquoise studded earrings and has a studded nose ring.
Police said the victim showed clear signs of physical abuse with "trauma" all over her body. The death is being investigated as a homicide.
Neighbors in the area told ABC15 they are shocked and devastated by the situation.
Police were unable to identify the victim using fingerprints so have released a sketch hoping someone will come forward with information.
Authorities have not identified a suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tempe police.
