TEMPE, AZ - Authorities said a motorcyclist has died after a collision in Tempe Wednesday night.
Tempe Police spokeswoman Molly Enright said the accident happened around 8 p.m near Scottsdale Road and Weber Drive.
Enright said a Honda passenger car was traveling southbound on Scottsdale Road and tried a make a left turn. The Honda driver failed to yield to the motorcyclist that was traveling northbound on Scottsdale Road.
Authorities said both the motorcyclist and his passenger were ejected upon impact.
According to Enright, the motorcyclist died of his injuries. Officials said his passenger was transported to a local hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.
Police are not releasing the motorcyclist's name pending notification of next of kin.
Enright said investigators determined the Honda driver was not impaired at the time of the crash.
Southbound Scottsdale Road was closed for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
There is no further information at this time.
