PD: 3 shot near McClintock High School, police search for suspects

TEMPE, AZ - A search is underway for the suspects involved in a shooting near a Tempe high school Wednesday afternoon.

Tempe police Sgt. Mike Pooley said officers responded to shots fired from a moving vehicle near McClintock Drive and Southern Avenue just after 1 p.m.

Pooley said children in the McClintock High School swimming pool heard shots fired from a home across the street.

When officers arrived at the house they found the homeowner had a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to the hospital.

Police learned two other gunshot victims were driven to the hospital by a fourth person.

One of the victims is in critical condition, Pooley said.

McClintock High School was temporarily put on lockdown as a precaution.

Police believe the people involved in the shootings all know each other. They are investigating the possibility that the incident is drug-related.
