TEMPE, AZ - A 25-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly fondled females on two separate occasions at a Tempe mall.
According to court documents the incidents happened on June 24 and June 25 at Arizona Mills Mall.
Police say that around 6 p.m. on June 24, the suspect used his hand to slap a 15-year-old girl on the rear end as she played a video game at GameWorks.
Apparently she didn’t respond so the suspect slid his hand between her legs from behind and touched her genital area over her clothes.
The victim then told the suspect to stop and she fled the area.
She reportedly told police she was scared of the man and said he smelled strongly of body odor. He was identified as the suspect through mall security video and in a photo lineup the next day.
The second incident happened on Wednesday, June 25 around 2:30 p.m. when the suspect followed a 19-year-old female into the women’s restroom at Arizona Mills Mall and from behind ran his hand up her leg and touched her genital area before she could tell him to stop and run out of the bathroom.
The second victim also identified the suspect on mall security video showing him going into and leaving the women’s restroom.
The suspect was taken into custody but refused to answer any questions.
He was booked into the Tempe jail on one count of aggravated assault and two counts of sexual abuse.
According to court documents, the suspect has no job or stable address.
