A former Arizona State football player has been sentenced to three years of supervised probation in connection with a burglary at a Tempe student housing complex.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Jayme Otomewo was sentenced Tuesday.

He pleaded guilty to one count of attempted theft of a credit card and/or obtaining a credit card by fraudulent means.

The 22-year-old Otomewo was a sophomore safety for the Sun Devils at the time of his December 2015 arrest and he was dismissed from the team.

Tempe police say Otomewo and another former ASU player, Deonte Reynolds, were arrested after officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress.

Otomewo and Reynlods were both found outside the housing complex.

Reynolds was also sentenced Monday to three years of supervised probation.

Police say both men admitted to unlawfully entering a home and had stolen property in their possession.
