Dashboard camera catches "road rage" on Tempe street after close call in parking lot

TEMPE, AZ - A suspected road rage incident in Tempe was captured on a dashboard camera Thursday afternoon.

The video, posted on YouTube, had more than 22,000 views in its first 24 hours online.

"Before we even left the parking lot, he threw a drink at my car," said the driver who recorded the incident and asked not to be identified.

That Tempe man told ABC15 that he and another driver nearly collided in a parking lot near Southern Avenue and Rural Road and that the other driver was very angry.

"I didn't harm him," said the man, "I didn't threaten him. I was merely trying to get his license plate so I can give it to the police."

Unfortunately, the camera did not get a clear image of the plate and Tempe police could not locate the vehicle, he said.

The video shows a white pickup truck swerve several times to block the other vehicle from driving.

Tempe police say if you witness a road rage incident you should contact officers via 911 or the non-emergency line as soon as possible.
