TEMPE, AZ - Tempe police are getting help from other agencies as they search the Tempe Town Lake area for a missing Arizona State University student.
Jack Culolias, 19, was last seen leaving Tempe Marketplace after he was escorted out of Cadillac Ranch bar, Tempe police said Wednesday morning.
Culolias left his wallet and cell phone at the restaurant.
Tempe police spokesman Michael Pooley said investigators have talked to fraternity members Culolias was with Friday night and say they've gotten conflicting information.
Pooley said Culolias is not seen leaving the bar or parking lot in surveillance videos.
ASU police and Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies are assisting in Wednesday's search of Tempe Town Lake.
The sheriff's office is putting an underwater camera into the water looking for clues. They are also using a helicopter to search the Salt River basin just east of the lake.
Pooley says a shoe found along the river bank is the only clue as to the possible whereabouts of the missing man.
As of Wednesday, the shoe was in a crime lab being tested for DNA according to Tempe police.
That shoe was found by the missing man's mother on Tuesday as she searched on her own.
"There's so many unanswered questions, so many, but I want to thank everyone from the police to the media and especially all the moms who have come to help me," said Culolias' mom during a prayer vigil Wednesday night.
About 200 students and concerned residents came to the area near Tempe Marketplace late Wednesday night holding hands and praying.
"Bring home Jack, bring home Jack," the large crowd chanted between prayers.
"Please somebody, say something," said one ASU student among the crowd while wiping away tears.
Wednesday evening Culolias' photo was placed on digital billboards in the Tempe area asking for information in locating the missing teen.
Tempe detectives are expected back out at the area looking for more clues Thursday as they continue to ask the public for tips.
