Authorities looking for suspect who fled DPS after crash in Tempe

TEMPE, A - Authorities are looking for a man who fled from DPS officers after a collision in Tempe Tuesday afternoon.

Tempe Police Lieutenant Scott Smith said the incident started around 3 p.m. on the US 60 and 101.

Smith said a Department of Public Safety officer pulled over a Black Dodge Charger and when the officer got out of his vehicle, the suspect took off.

Authorities said another officer saw the suspect's vehicle exiting Guadalupe Road at a high rate of speed.

Smith said the suspect's vehicle then collided with another car at the intersection of Price and Guadalupe roads.

Authorities said the suspect fled on foot and has not been seen since.

Police are looking for a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt.

Smith said no officers were injured.
