Elizabeth Felix is a server at the Devils Diner in downtown Tempe.

"When school starts we'll have lines out the door, "she said. "We should be adding extra people and servers."

There are about 60 thousand students that attend ASU Tempe. Tens of thousands more at the other campus sites.

The summer months puts a strain on business throughout the Valley.

Mill Avenue has seen struggles in recent years with the economy, and the opening of Tempe Marketplace.

"With football games and events it is really a fun time of year," said Felix.
