A final hurdle may have been cleared in a potential merger between Valley based US Airways and American Airlines.
In a joint statement released Friday, US Airways said it had finished discussions with the pilot's unions for both airlines.
Those discussions included a plan for how the two groups of pilots would be combined.
US Airways has said if the merger goes through, they will move their headquarters from Tempe to Fort Worth, Texas.
The airline would fly under the American banner, which would cost thousands of jobs in Phoenix.
The value of the combined airlines would be set at $8.5 billion.
