SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ - A mother and her young daughter were reunited Monday morning after the little girl was found alone in San Tan Valley.
According to Pinal County Sheriff's Office, a citizen near East Olivine Road and Crystal Drive found the child riding her three-wheeler with no guardians around after 9 a.m. Monday.
The child appeared to be a 2- or 3-year-old.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene to stay with the unsupervised child.
PCSO says that the child did not provide her name, but was without an adult for approximately 20 minutes.
Just before 10 a.m., deputies found the girl's mother.
Both were taken to a substation to determine exactly why the girl was outside alone.
The mother had reportedly overslept after working late the night before and couldn't find her daughter, according to PCSO.
The mother then left her home in her vehicle to locate the girl. At that time, deputies found the woman and told her that her daughter was safe.
Child Protective Services was notified of the incident and will follow up with the family.
