SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ - Authorities say two people suffered serious injuries when their motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck in San Tan Valley Wednesday night.
According to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened around 6:15 p.m. at Ocotillo Road and Cambria Lane.
Officials say neither occupant of the pickup truck was injured, but the driver and passenger on the motorcycle received serious injuries to their legs. The motorcycle driver and passenger were both wearing helmets.
PCSO said detectives determined that the pickup truck failed to yield from the stop sign at the intersection while turning left onto Ocotillo Road.
The motorcyclist was unable to avoid the truck and slammed into its front driver's side, according to PCSO.
Officials say alcohol and drug impairment do not appear to be factors in the accident.
The driver of the truck will likely be cited for having excessively dark window tints on his vehicle and failing to yield while turning left at an intersection, according to PCSO.
