MESA, AZ - Don’t want to accidentally match anyone else at your high school prom? Paint a one-of-a-kind dress!
A Mesa high school senior decided to find the perfect dress by buying a used wedding gown and perfectly personalizing it, Yahoo reports.
Julia Reidhead, 18, spent over 40 hours creating her masterpiece- a dress flowing to the ground with a hand-painted re-creation of “Starry Night” by Van Gogh.
The fabric was covered in acrylic paints over a pencil sketch of the one of her favorite pieces of art, according to Yahoo.
Her dress got the attention of a lot of her classmates who posted photos on their Instagram and Twitter accounts. Since the unveiling of her gown, Yahoo says she has also gotten requests from people wanting her to paint on other pieces of clothing.
Reidhead is set to head to a Utah university for graphic design school, but is reportedly considering art school.
