Mesa police arrest man suspected of burglary, trespassing in Mesa neighborhood

MESA, AZ - Mesa police arrested a man Friday morning suspected of burglary and trespassing in a neighborhood

According to the Mesa Police Department, a woman called police around 1:30 a.m. because a man, identified as Jonathan Lorenz, was reportedly going through her car in the neighborhood near Signal Butte Road and University Drive.

When officers arrived, they heard a car alarm go off on a nearby street.

Police said while officers were searching the area, another woman contacted authorities saying a man had entered her house through the back door, but ran out when she confronted him.

Police located Lorenz sitting on the back patio of a house near the home he allegedly entered
and police took him into custody.

The car burglary victim identified Lorenz as the man who was inside her car, according to police.

Officials said Lorenz was booked on two counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Trespass in the 1st Degree, one count of Possession of Burglary Tools and one count of Prohibited Possessor.
